Tipis & Yurts
Inside Oak Tipi
For 2008 we have built wooden decking for all our yurts and MOST of our tipis.
We have three traditional Sioux Native American tipis, each sleeping 4-5 comfortably. Each is placed sympathetically within beautiful woodland clearings facing our own private grassland valley.
Each tipi is furnished with everything you need for camping in luxury and style. Each tipi has a camping gas stove, giving you the option of cooking inside. A small barbeque is also provided.
Both tents are well designed and waterproofed for the British weather. It is also important to add that they are made by the top British craftsman in the country. Our yurts are made by both Albion Canvas in Devon and Roundhouse Yurt based in Herefordshire. The main difference between the tipis and yurts apart from their different shapes is the method of heating inside.
The yurts have a woodburning stove and the tipis have a chimenea. So you can have a fire in both, but the yurts are a bit warmer. The tipis are the more adventurous option , (and the most beautiful in my opinion!!), and require you to open the smoke flaps. Once open the smoke can go out. This will be demonstrated when you arrive. I nearly always recommend the yurts to famillies with very young children in the cooler months, March/ April as its warmer. Coulples or famillies looking for a more secluded spot would enjoy Robin or Lark Tipi. Whichever tent you choose, you will not be disappointed.
Every tipi and yurt has it's own outdoor firepit and table and seating, plus a hammock.

Bedding Arrangements
Each tipi and yurt has a king sized bed raised off the ground with a gorgeous handcrafted wooden headboard and good quality mattress. There are three single foam mattresses in each tent too, for the children or extra adults which can be placed wherever you choose and can be piled on top of each other in the daytime to make more space. There are 5 singles and a kingsize bed in Bluebell Yurt (which sleep up to 7 people).

Each sleeps 4 - 5 people comfortably. It's a little larger compared to the tipi,
and has the added luxury of the woodburning stove. It is an incredibly light and cosy space.
